Why are electronic cigarettes not suitable for pregnant women?

I’m about 6 weeks pregnant and a smoker. I know a need to quit smoking, so I thought the electonic cigarette(e-cig) would be a good option so I went to their site and it said pregnant and nursing women shouldn’t use them. Well obviously, but are they better for u than real cigs. Should I go ahead and get them?
I understand ‘cold turkey’ is best but it puts more stress on the baby than cutting back. I think I’ve got the answer I need though. Thanks.

They’re definitely a lot better than regular cigarettes. They still have the nicotine, but they don’t have all those nasty chemicals, and there’s no second hand smoke… so they’re good even after the baby arrives. It’s all water vapor. And you can eventually lower the mg of nicotine you have in them so maybe you can quit. Or if you enjoy smoking, then that’s fine too, they have pretty high doses of nicotine in them.

So yes, they’re a good investment…
