Here’s a Challenge…….?

The Department of Health and Human Services in Washington D.C. states that between 800,000 and 1.3 million children will go to bed hungry tonight and wake up with nothing to eat. That’s not in a Third World Country it’s here in the good old USA. So I’ve decided that since I just recently quit a pack a day smoking habit I’ll donate what the cigarettes would have cost for a year to the Salvation Army’s Community Food Kitchens. That’s $365.00, not a fortune but it’s something. Now that you know about the problem what are you going to do? If your planing to write your not going to do anything or write something like the problem’s to big or it’s the government’s problem don’t waste your time on this question just move on.

I totally agree with you! I was reading my local paper before christmas and saw that there were still 200+ kids that were not going to have any food or gifts this year due to the growing demand needing help. It is so sad that not more people can help or want to help. But when I read that I told myself that I will put back 5$ a week and give it to the salvation army to make that next family in line have a great christmas that they will never forget. I have two little boys at home and could not imagine the feeling of knowing that I could not feed them, or even the feeling that they have when they see those preciuos kids little sad eyes and growling tummys everyday..Its so horrible! Thank you for being one that cares!
